Mission Statement

The Bastrop Fire Department will strive for excellence in the performance of our duty and in the service that we provide to all our citizens. Our department can be no stronger than its members. For the members of this department, it shall not be just a job, it shall be a commitment to the citizens of our community, a commitment to hold devotion to duty above personal risk, and to count sincerity of service above personal comfort and convenience. We will always strive to improve our level of service and commitment to the citizens we protect.

As our city grows, so shall our resolve to protect and serve our community. To accomplish this, we will never fear change because change is the process for improvement. We will consider change as a regular, well managed event. Through professional and courteous service, our prevention, education, and training efforts, we shall strive to prevent, prepare for, or to otherwise limit the extent of any fire or emergency.
