Bastrop’s Central Fire Station recently purchased a new fire truck which was delivered March 5, 2019. The 1999 L1 aerial ladder truck purchased with help from an assistive grant provided by the USDA, will replace the old 1979 model that has been in use for 40 years.
The new truck from Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus in Alabama includes a 75 foot ladder and 500 gallon water tank. Fire Department staff will go through a month of training on the truck before it is put to use. Pictured here with the new truck (L to R) are Mayor Henry Cotton, Fire Prevention Chief Timothy Williams, Fire Prevention Officer Jeremy Defee, Captain Jesse Nicholson, Driver Thad Townsend, Driver Murphy Tubbs, Captain Patrick Coleman, and Bastrop Fire Chief Thomas Crowder.
